Lake Louise is an emerald, glacier-capped gem in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada.
A stop at Lake Louise, Banff National Park, Alberta is nearly obligatory on the drive home from Palliser Lodge at the Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, above Golden, British Columbia, to Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Lake Louise and the incredible surrounding scenery in Banff National Park holds many incredible and indelible memories.
The Lake Louise panorama includes the distinctive Big Beehive looming above hidden Lake Agnes, a quiet place of more peaceful dignity above the awe-inspired crowds assembled around the world-famous Chateau Lake Louise.
The long lens reveals Lake Agnes Teahouse a short distance above Mirror Lake at the base of Big Beehive but tiny and exquisitely beautiful sub-alpine Lake Agnes remains secret above Lake Louise, Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada.
An adventure that began on August 3 is coming to its inevitable end. The six-day span has been filled with adventure in awesome places. Nature has taught and expanded emotional horizons. This experience began at one site of Bow River flooding in Baker Park, Calgary, Alberta. The river has changed dramatically in recovery but much evidence of the significant impact remains.
These hiking adventures are always special. They are always appreciated. They always create indelible memories. Thank you.
Photographs in this post were taken on August 9, 2013 at Lake Louise, and in Calgary on August 3, 2013 at Baker Park.
