Sheep River Valley – Turner Valley – Hiking Alberta

 

The Sheep River Valley contains a wealth of recreational opportunity west of Turner Valley, Alberta.

 

 

The Sheep River Valley is a formidable river gorge south of Calgary, and west of Turner Valley, in Kananaskis Country.   Today will be a shoulder season hiking day in cleats to search for potential ice climbing routes later in the winter.  The following photographs provide an idea of what mid-November winter conditions might look like near Calgary, Alberta, Canada although, it is important to note every winter in Southern Alberta tends to be unique.

The Sheep River Valley is located in Kananaskis Country south of Calgary and west of Turner Valley, Alberta, Canada.
